What is Cherwell Service Management?

Cherwell Service Management (Cherwell) is a modern Service Management based on a codeless configuration platform. It includes a range of pre-configured ITIL-based modules out of the box, but is also fully configurable, allowing new workflow, fields, forms and modules to be created with ease. For this reason, it is hard to conceive that customers can outgrow Cherwell due to the ability to easily evolve it to meet any current of future business need.

Cherwell provides a streamlined enterprise service management solution underpinned by automated processes and tools that are easy-to-use and configure. Its feature-rich capabilities include eleven ITIL processes, together with the flexibility and capability to adapt to your unique workflows in IT, HR, facilities, operations, customer support and other units in your organisation. Cherwell also includes a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) that can be automatically populated from a large number of industry-leading discovery tools.

Its other core features include Incident and Request Management, which consolidates tickets and requests for faster issue resolution; Change Management, Configuration Management, and IT Asset Management for tracking and managing hardware/software assets.

With these integrated features, Cherwell Service Management can help you design efficient workflows, oversee requests with clarity and speed and adopt industry practices across multiple business support areas. You also gain visibility, transparency and improve end-user satisfaction.

The infrastructure is easy to set up, with both hosted SaaS and on-premise deployment models being available. Cherwell licensing is based on concurrent licensing to help you manage costs, with features such as the ability to add or create new modules, electronic approvals and customer portal access being entirely license-free.

Cherwell CORE

Cherwell CORE is a purpose-built no-code development and delivery platform that serves as the logical foundation for Cherwell’s ITSM solution, Cherwell ESM (enterprise service management) solutions such as HR and Facilities, and custom-built workflow applications. The platform is designed to support any combination of pre-built and custom-built applications to meet your organisation’s service management requirements.

Licensing Model

Agent licensing is concurrent and fully scalable, from 20 agents to many hundreds of agents. Self Service Portal users do not consume licenses. Administration, automation, electronic approval and scheduling functions also don’t consume licenses.

Entry Point

The minimum number of Cherwell licenses that can be purchased is 20. Additional licenses can be ordered in batches of 5 licenses.

Supported Hosting Models

Cherwell CORE can be installed on-premise, hosted with iService Solutions, or hosted with a hosting partner of your choice (such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, etc.). Subject to minimum licensing requirements, hosting can also be provided by Cherwell Software.
