Security Event Management

A Security Event is anything that happens that could conceivably have information security implications. For instance, a spam email is a security event in that it may have links to malware. Cherwell includes a Security Event Management module which allows Security Events to be created either manually or via feeds from automated tools. Data captured includes the nature of the event, the date/time it was reported, the priority and severity of the event, the cause and response and resolution details. Security Events can be linked to customers (users), Network Events, other Security Events and Configuration Items.
